1937 Bugatti wins Best of Show at Concours d’Elegance of America at St. Johns

July 26, 2015  –  For the second time in eight days, the 1937 Bugatti Type 57SC Atalante Coupe, owned by The Patterson Collection of Louisville, Ky., won Best of Show at a prominent concours d’elegance car show. Judges at the Concours d’Elegance of America at St. John’s, near Detroit, awarded this immaculate black beauty top honors for the European category.  Last week, it was victorious at the Keeneland Concours d’Elegance in Lexington, Ky.

The premier American car at St. Johns was a 1929 Duesenberg Model J,  shown (below left) following the awards presentation with the Bugatti (below right).  This Duesenberg previously won top prize at the 2013 Celebration of Automobiles (Indianapolis) and 2014 Keels & Wheels Concours d’Elegance (Texas).

Today’s win was a repeat of sorts for Jim Patterson, owner of the Patterson Collection. Last year he won Best of Show “European” at St. John’s with another Bugatti: a 1939 T57C Cabriolet (below)
