(Renamed for 2017: Lake Bluff Concours d’Elegance of Southwest Michigan)

Michigan concours discontinued after 13 years

From the event website, December 3, 2017:

A note to the friends of the Lake Bluff Concours –

This fall the decision has been made to discontinue the Concours after 13 successful years. Several factors made the cancellation necessary. Founder and past chairman Dar Davis and chairman Anne Odden have both decided to retire. In addition, the City of St Joseph has changed its policies so that the Lake Bluff Park will no longer be available for the Concours.

We are sorry we won’t be hosting the auto event next summer, but we want to urge you to continue to support our many fine area automotive institutions. There are wonderful automobiles to be enjoyed at sites like the Gilmore Car Museum in Hickory Corners, Michigan and Studebaker National Museum, Hostetler Hudson Museum and Auburn-Cord-Duesenberg Museum in Indiana.

Good news. Not far from St. Joseph, in South Bend, IN, the Studebaker National Museum has picked Saturday, August 11, 2018 (the same weekend as the former St. Joseph Concours) for it 1st annual Concours d’Elegance at Copshaholm. The fundraiser is similar in size and content to the departed Lake Bluff Concours. Approximately 80 vehicles will be invited and special classes of vehicles will be sought. A pass in review feature is being planned and trophies will be given. Details about the Copshaholm event will be available online at the beginning of the year at Featured classes of vehicles being sought are: Hoosier Classics, Microcars, Auburn/Cord/Duesenberg, European Style, Postwar American Convertibles, One of a Kind, Birds of a Feather: Studebaker Hawks, Out in Front: FWD, European Speed, Ask the Man Who Owns One: Packard and Never Been Kissed: Original/Barn Fresh.
