Salisbury Concours d’Elegance – 2013
A Celebration of the Art and Design
of the Automobile
The Salisbury Concours d’Elegance is an invitation-only exhibition of fine automobiles and motorcycles. The primary focus is on the type of vehicles that the Weeks family might have driven – luxury and prestige autos and sporty motorcycles produced from 1923 to 1953, the era of the Weeks’ residence in the Salisbury House.
Vehicles are grouped in logical classes of 6 to 20, reviewed by the judging panels only if the owner so chooses. The primary criteria for judging are the elegance and beauty of the automobile design as subjectively perceived by the judges. Awards are presented based on The Peoples’ Choice and the Concours judges’ determinations. Pristine condition, while helpful, is not essential for acceptance; innovative design and the artistic qualities of the original vehicle are additional considerations.
