Del Mar Concours to feature Shelby Cars
and V-12 Classics for 2012

On Sunday, October 21, 2012, the Concours d’Elegance returns to the Del Mar Race Track Paddock in Del Mar (CA). For the third year in a row, the historic Race Track Paddock will be transformed into a living museum befitting the finest classic, antique and historically significant automobiles in the world. Ed Gilbertson (Chief Judge) from the world renowned Pebble Beach Concours d’ Elegance, said, “this is the perfect place for a venue that showcases horses and horsepower.” On Sunday, October 21st, the Del Mar Race Track Paddock will be all about horsepower — the fastest, the smoothest, the rarest and the most magnificent in design.

For 2012, the marquees will be all about power and speed. To celebrate the third year, Del Mar Concours CEO and Chairman, Tim Henry, has designated both V16 classics and Shelby Automobiles as the featured marquees.

In short, the Del Mar Concours d’Elegance will be Southern California’s richest showcase of the finest classic autos from around the world, with over 100 vehicles on display and in competition.

The tension will mount throughout the day as the judges, this year headed by Chief Judge Cy Conrad and Honorary Chief Judge Ed Gilbertson, make their selections for the coveted Best of Show award and the important special category awards. Attendees will have the opportunity to vote for their favorite entry to win the People’s Choice Award.
